The "Hautes Fagnes" is a flat marsh situated in the south-east of Belgium against the german border. Culminating at 700m, it is surprisingly also the highest place of Belgium. The spongy peaty ground is quiet dangerous for walkers who are urged to use the pathes and footbridges.
